Reading a suspect's traits
How scattered remarks about hair, hobbies, and habits add up to a single named V.I.L.E. crook.
While the destination clues tell you where a crook is headed, a second stream of clues tells you who they are. These are the suspect-trait clues, and learning to read them is the difference between an arrest that sticks and one that collapses.
Witnesses describe the crook indirectly: the colour of their hair, a sport or pastime they mentioned, a favourite food, the kind of vehicle they left in, and a distinguishing feature such as a ring, a tattoo, or a particular accessory. None of these alone names the suspect — the suspect database holds several crooks who share any single trait. Only the full intersection of the recorded traits resolves to one V.I.L.E. member.
Why it matters
The trait clues feed directly into the warrant. File too few traits and the database returns several possible names; file a wrong trait and you name the wrong person. Because an arrest is only valid when the warrant matches the actual crook, careful note-taking on traits is as important as picking the right flight. It is also the quieter half of the game's educational design: where destination clues teach geography, trait clues teach players to gather, cross-reference, and weigh partial evidence.
